Fence Straddlers

Happy Sunday everyone!
Thinking of this today...
Stop straddling the fence! Some people are professional fence straddlers... Constantly in a state of neither here nor there. You can't be on the fence between grace and law, love and hate, God and the world!

Joshua 24:15 puts it this way, "choose for your seek his day whom you shall serve..." And then he went on the make a choice for him and his family. Here's the thing, God had chosen the Israelites but they were straddling the fence between him and other gods.

Today examine your heart and ask yourself what are you straddling the fence on in your life? Why? Because God has already chosen and while you're on the fence you miss out on what it is to be fully invested in the things he's chosen for you! He's chosen life, love, freedom, peace, grace and so much more!

Walk the Talk

Walking the Talk!

Ruth lost her entire safety net when she lost her husband and was left with just her mother in law. And many of us in a moment of passion and excitement have told the Lord what she said to Noemi.
“But Ruth replied, “Don’t urge me to leave you or to turn back from you. Where you go I will go, and where you stay I will stay. Your people will be my people and your God my God. Where you die I will die, and there I will be buried. May the Lord deal with me, be it ever so severely, if even death separates you and me.””
Ruth 1:16-17 NIV

We say I'll go but what do we do when God actually says '"GO" or better yet, "LEAVE"? Go and leave your comfort zone, the things and the people that you so love.

See I'm convinced that some just talk the talk, and others walk the walk. I'm determined to see this new season in my life through the eyes of Ruth...
Following the leading of the Holy Spirit, walking upon the conviction that just like Ruth, I'm going where He goes and that will lead me to my prophetic destiny. It will lead me to the land and the descendants that he has promised me!

How about you?
Are you read to walk the talk?

Stay In Your Post

There's confusion and frustration in the body of Christ when people don't understand biblically what their calling is.
For example if you are a prophet and don't understand your role as a prophet you can make the mistake of thinking you're an armor bearer.

If your role as a prophet is to be at the watch tower and keep guard then your role is at the top of that tower. Stop trying to be an armor bearer who covers from up close. That's not your role! And worst is the fact that while you're so busy trying to stay close you are actually putting those you are called to protect in danger because you are not at your post!

That's like Samuel trying to be David to King Saul! Prophet of God let David fight for the king and Armor Bearer let Samuel prophecy! You can't be both!!!

“David came to Saul and entered his service. Saul liked him very much, and David became one of his armor-bearers. Then Saul sent word to Jesse, saying, “Allow David to remain in my service, for I am pleased with him.””
1 Samuel 16:21-22 NIV

““Enough!” Samuel said to Saul. “Let me tell you what the Lord said to me last night.” “Tell me,” Saul replied.”...
1 Samuel 15:16

Venting vs Self Pity

There's venting and then there's self pity... There's a fine line between both! #meditatinginGod #selfreflecting #notpersonal #justprocessing
The key is in the definition...
My prayer is: Lord help me to not exaggerate or be self indulgent to the point that I believe I have done no wrong and deserve everyone's condolences!

Quality Control

A lot of what I do at my job is to ensure quality control. I take temperatures, taste beverages, taste food and time things to ensure there quality.

Ministry and pastoral work is not much different. There are safety nets and check points that are established in order to ensure the quality of what we are producing. When a pastor asks you questions, they are simply taking your temperature and ensuring that you are producing quality.

A few times I've come into my job and while taking temperatures have discovered refrigerators that have been off all night and have dumped dozens of gallons of product. All to prevent that even one person would get sick from our product!

Jesus was the master of quality control. He asked Peter three times "do you love me?" And with each response Jesus would give him another command (feed my sheep, shepherd my sheep, follow me John 21: 17-19) ensuring that Peter would be a good shepherd!

So don't resent when in ministry and life others seem to pry... They aren't prying, they are doing quality control, ensuring that what you produce is only the best!!!

Dont Flatter Yourself!!!

In their own eyes they flatter themselves too much to detect or hate their sin.
(Psalm 36:2 NIV)

The saying "don't flatter yourself" makes total sense in light of this verse. Sometimes we just believe our own nonsense to the point that we don't know what's what in our own lives! Isn't that crazy? We're so busy hearing our own words that we can't hear Gods!

We should all say this to ourselves today...
Don't flatter yourself

We should all pray this today...
Lord help me to see myself as I truly am so that I may detect and hate the sin in my life!

Are We There Yet?

This weekend my husband Jerameel had the privilege of going to Florida to spend time with his family. On his last day he took his nephew to The Rainforest Cafe to eat and see the animals. On the way there he sent me a text message saying they Ethan had already asked him five times, "Are we there yet?" And on that last time he told him to stop asking if not he was going to turn around and take him home. Five minutes later they arrived at Downtown Disney and had a great time.

When I read the text message I felt God say that I'm just like that 4 year old little kid on a car ride asking, "are we there yet?" How many times have we been on a journey with God and when it seems that He is taking too long to arrive at the final destination we begin to question him?

I have struggled with this in the past few months. I had begun to feel like Sarah must have felt when she convinced Abraham to sleep with the servant and have a child with her. Yet that detour that Sarah and Abraham took trying to find a short cut on the journey to the promise God had given, came at a cost.

How many times have we taken what seems to be a short cut but it has taken us longer to arrive to our destination?

God is never late, he's always on time, faithful to his word and has a perfect plan. The bible says that our steps are ordered, still we try to map our own course many times.

Today I want to encourage someone who like me at times has grown weary while waiting to arrive to the place of there promise! Even if you're a hundred years old, when the promise comes to pass the Lord will be gracious as He said and do for you what he promised!

Now the Lord was gracious to Sarah as he had said, and the Lord did for Sarah what he had promised. Sarah became pregnant and bore a son to Abraham in his old age, at the very time God had promised him. Abraham gave the name Isaac to the son Sarah bore him. When his son Isaac was eight days old, Abraham circumcised him, as God commanded him. Abraham was a hundred years old when his son Isaac was born to him. Sarah said, “God has brought me laughter, and everyone who hears about this will laugh with me.” And she added, “Who would have said to Abraham that Sarah would nurse children? Yet I have borne him a son in his old age.” (Genesis 21:1-7 NIV)
